Janne Kyttänen (Freedom of Creation): Rapid Manufactured Products: Palm Chandelier

Janne Kyttänen (b. 1974) is an industrial designer and a graduate of The Gerrit Rietweld Academie in Amsterdam. Kyttänen´s company Freedom of Creation (FOC), was founded in Helsinki, Finland in 2000 and is currently based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. It is a pioneering design and research company whose mission is to bring together the latest technology and design. FOC is specialized in Rapid Manufacturing, an additive fabrication technique for producing three-dimensional solid objects designed digitally with 3D software.
 Inspired by the connection between mathematics and the laws of nature, such as the Fibonacci sequence of numbers, Kyttänen has also created a collection of lighting designs. The Palm Chandelier is a good example of this collection. It follows the growing pattern of the foliage in a palm tree and it is composed of 38 individual small Palm lights combined together to form a chandelier.
