Janne Kyttänen (Freedom of Creation): Rapid Manufactured Products: Tiger Electric Shoe

Janne Kyttänen (b. 1974) is an industrial designer and a graduate of The Gerrit Rietweld Academie in Amsterdam. Kyttänen´s company Freedom of Creation (FOC), was founded in Helsinki, Finland in 2000 and is currently based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. It is a pioneering design and research company whose mission is to bring together the latest technology and design. FOC is specialized in Rapid Manufacturing, an additive fabrication technique for producing three-dimensional solid objects designed digitally with 3D software.
Kyttänen´s products in HARDCORE are examples of this cutting edge technology. The Tiger Electric Shoe (2007, with Mads Thomsen) was originally designed for the Japanese shoe maker, Onitsuka for promotional purposes. After its initial creation, the over sized shoe containing a miniature sized town has been modified and produced in many variations scaled to different sizes, all the way down to small key rings.
