Kristiina Lassus; Tibidabo Set, Iota Salad Bowl and A401 Series (Alessi)
Kristiina Lassus (b. 1966) holds a Master’s degree both in Design Leadership and in Interior Architecture and Furniture Design from the University of Art and Design, Helsinki.
Lassus has worked for the Italian design company Alessi as a product designer, project manager and design manager. Today Lassus runs her own design studio in Italy providing consultancy services in art direction, product design and development, visual
communication, and interior architecture under her own trademark, Kristiina Lassus Studio. She launched the first Kristiina Lassus Studio collection of high-end rugs in a limited numbered edition in 2007. She also continues to create designs for Alessi as an independent designer.
To the HARDCORE exhibition Lassus brings a kitchenware set designed for Alessi. The Iota Salad Bowl (2006) is made of polished stainless steel. In the salad bowl there is a notch specifically designed for the Tibidabo serving set (2006-2007). The set includes a spaghetti serving fork, a rice and vegetable spoon, a salad serving set and a general serving set. Also on view in HARDCORE is her A401 Series (2007). It is a coffee and tea serving set specifically developed for professional use for hotels, bars and restaurants. It is composed of a coffee pot, a tea serving set and a milk jug, all made of stainless steel. Kristiina Lassus just recently won the Red Dot Award in Product Design in 2008 for the A401 Series.
