In addition to the two founding partners of the company, industrial designers Arni Aromaa and Sauli Suomela, the Pentagon staff includes six design specialists in the fields of industrial, interior and graphic design. Managing Director Arni Aromaa acts as an expert in concept and product design and is responsible for developing the company’s services. In addition to creative work, Aromaa lectures at design schools in Finland and abroad, participates in development projects in the field as an expert and holds many positions of trust. Industrial designer Sauli Suomela is responsible for carrying out product and concept design projects. His main task is to bring the product and the concept to the finished form. As a partner, Suomela also participates in the strategic planning of the company.
  Pentagon’s recent commissions include designing spatial concepts such as shop interiors and fair presentations as well as such product designs as the Muunto [‘adaptable’ in English] shelving systems for the Finnish furniture maker TJT-Kaluste and a series of products for the kitchen in the Hackman MATCH collection. Pentagon Design has been awarded such international prizes as the Red Dot award for their Hot & Cool, New Urban Sauna Concept in 2005 and Design Plus, a design prize given for exemplary and trend-setting product designs in conjunction with the Ambiente International Consumer Goods trade fair in Frankfurt, Germany in 2007 for the Jars glass jar set for Iittala.
