Anne Kyyrö Quinn: Leaf Wall Panel
Anne Kyyrö Quinn (b. 1965) holds an MA degree in Textile Design from London Metropolitan University. She started her London-based design company in 1999 and is now one of Britain's leading producers of handcrafted interior textiles.
Kyyrö Quinn’s creations are more like artworks than conventional fabrics. Her sculptural approach has pioneered a new genre of interior textiles that are based on three-dimensional structure rather than on smooth surface ornamentation.
Anne Kyyrö Quinn’s design on show in the HARDCORE exhibition is a sculptural wall installation made of wool. The Leaf Wall Panel (2005) also functions as an acoustic wall panel that dampens sound. Inspired by organic shapes and realized with an expression of Scandinavian simplicity it aims to bridge the gap between urban interiors and the natural landscape.
