Anne Kyyrö Quinn is a Finnish born textile designer who started her designer career in 1998 and founded her own design studio in London in 1999. She holds a BA degree in Textile Design (1998) and a MA in Art and Visual Culture (2001) from London Metropolitan University.
Kyyrö Quinn’s sculptural approach has pioneered a new genre of interior textiles based on three-dimensional structure rather than smooth surface ornamentation. In her work she aims to merge twenty-first century design with textures inspired by the natural world. Using felt as a material, her products bridge the gulf between urban interior and the natural landscape.
With her cushions, throws, table runners, wall panels and blinds, Anne Kyyrö Quinn is one of Britain’s leading manufacturers of handcrafted textiles.
During her career Anne Kyyrö Quinn has been granted several design awards. In 2007 she won the GOOD DESIGN Award for her felted wall panels. In 2004 she was given the Best Product in Show Award at the New York International Gift Fair. A year before, 2003, Kyyrö Quinn was granted the Editors Award for Best New Designer at the International Contracting Furniture Fair (ICFF) in New York.
